Who controls the data

The controller of personal data is EASYEKO spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością, a limited liability company registered in Kraków, Poland, which carries out its information and education work under the name Institute for Educational Comfort (IKE).

What data we collect and why

We collect only the data needed to deal with a particular enquiry. We do not ask for special-category data and we take no decisions by automated means.

The observation checklist for parents and the booth configurator run entirely in the browser. The answers and the result stay on the user's device and are not sent to us. They reach us only if the user describes them in the contact form.

How long we keep data

enquiries and correspondence - up to 24 months after the matter is closed, unless longer retention follows from the law or from the need to defend claims,
school applications to the programme - for the duration of the programme and 12 months afterwards,
email address for publication notifications - until consent is withdrawn,
accounting data - for the period required by tax and accounting law,
cookie data - for the periods stated in the cookie policy.

Who we share data with

Data may be entrusted to the providers who support us technically - only to the extent needed to deliver the service and under a data processing agreement:

the site's hosting and email provider,
the provider of the publication-notification tool,
providers of statistics and analytics tools - if the user consents to analytics cookies (including Google Ireland Ltd. for Google Analytics and behaviour-analysis tools),
providers of reach-measurement tools and embedded content - if the user consents to marketing cookies (including Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. and Google Ireland Ltd. for YouTube and maps),
legal and accounting service providers,
public authorities - where required by law.

We do not sell data and we do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Some analytics tools and embedded content belong to providers whose infrastructure also covers the United States. In such cases the transfer takes place on the basis of a European Commission adequacy decision (the Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses. These tools load only after consent to the relevant cookie category.

Your rights

In relation to your data you may request access and a copy, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability (where the basis is consent or a contract), and you may object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Consent can be withdrawn at any time - this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

A request sent to biuro@ike.edu.pl is enough. We reply without undue delay, no later than within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, Poland.

Is providing data obligatory

Providing data is voluntary, but without it we cannot answer an enquiry or assess a school's application. The fields marked with an asterisk in the forms are the ones we need to handle the submission.

Children

The site is addressed to adults - teachers, head teachers, parents and anyone interested in school acoustics. Materials for children are provided through schools and parents; we do not collect children's personal data through this site.

Security

The site runs over an encrypted connection. Correspondence and submissions are accessible only to the people who need them to do their work. We apply technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the risk.

Changes to this policy

We update the policy whenever the scope of processing or the set of tools used on the site changes. The date of the current version appears under the document title.

Cookie policy

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that the browser stores on the user's device. They let the site remember choices made here and - if the user agrees - measure how the site is used. In this document „cookies" also covers related technologies: the browser's local storage and the identifiers kept in it.

Three categories

Necessary - required for the site to work and stored without consent, because without them the site cannot remember basic settings. Analytics - statistics on visits and how content is used. Marketing - measuring the reach of our information work, and content embedded from external services. The last two categories load only after consent.

Which analytics and marketing files appear depends on the tools currently in use. Until the user consents, those providers' scripts do not run.

Typefaces

The site uses typefaces served by Google Fonts. Fetching them means the browser connects to the provider's server, which then processes the IP address in order to deliver the file. This is not used to profile or identify the user.

Changing your decision

You can change your choice at any time - just open the settings panel:

Cookies can also be deleted or blocked in the browser settings (under „Privacy" or „Site data"). Blocking the necessary files means the site will stop remembering your language and accessibility settings.

Accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 1 September 2026 on the basis of a self-assessment carried out by the team running the site.

The Institute for Educational Comfort works to make this site usable by as many people as possible, whatever technology they use and whatever their individual needs. This statement covers the IKE website.

Compliance status

The site is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 at level AA. The non-compliances and exemptions are listed below.

What makes the site easier to use

four contrast variants, including white on black, yellow on black and black on yellow,
three text sizes, switchable without loss of content or function,
these settings are remembered across pages and on the next visit,
the whole site can be operated from the keyboard, with a visible focus outline,
a heading structure and landmarks that support screen-reader navigation,
alternative text for substantive photographs and captions under illustrations,
photographs generated with artificial intelligence are marked with the AI symbol,
animation is reduced when the system's reduce-motion setting is on,
texts written in plain language as far as possible, with technical terms explained.

Known non-compliances

some illustrative photographs have abbreviated alternative text - we are completing them progressively,
downloadable documents (reports, materials for teachers) are provided on request and not all of them are yet fully accessible PDFs,
video material embedded from external services may lack captions or a transcript,
the Noise Fighters page contains decorative, animated elements which are switched off when reduce-motion is on, but which may distract in the default view,
some data tables are wide and require horizontal scrolling on small screens.

Request procedure

A request should include the contact details of the person making it, the page or element that should be made accessible, and the preferred means of contact. We deal with requests without undue delay, no later than within 7 days. If that deadline cannot be met, we give notice of a new one, no longer than 2 months from the date the request was made. If accessibility is refused, the person making the request may lodge a complaint and then approach the Commissioner for Human Rights (Rzecznik Praw Obywatelskich).

Physical accessibility

The Institute does not run a public office for visitors. Noise Fighters sessions take place on school premises, and accessibility there is provided by the host school. Contact with the Institute is remote - by phone, by email and through the form on this site.

Terms of use

1. General

These terms set out the rules for using the website of the Institute for Educational Comfort, run by EASYEKO sp. z o.o., registered in Kraków (ul. Medweckiego 17, 31-870 Kraków, Poland; NIP 5170394118, KRS 0000747377). Using the site means accepting these terms.

2. What the site offers

The site provides information and educational content on the sound environment of schools, studies based on scientific publications, materials for schools and parents, information about the education programme, and forms for contacting the Institute. Use of the site is free of charge and requires no registration.

3. The nature of the content

The content is informational and educational. It does not constitute medical, psychological or legal advice, nor a technical expert opinion. Studies based on research describe population-level findings and do not allow an assessment of an individual child, teacher or room. The observation checklist and the booth configurator give an indicative result and do not replace a specialist's assessment or an acoustic measurement taken at the school.

Information about standards and regulations is given in descriptive form. The current legal position and the required values should be checked in official sources - standardisation documents are paid publications protected by copyright, which is why we do not reproduce their content.

4. Rules of use

Users undertake to use the site lawfully and in good faith - in particular not to take action that disrupts its operation, not to send unlawful content, and not to enter third parties' data in the forms without their knowledge.

5. Forms and submissions

Sending a form is an invitation to make contact; it does not constitute a contract or an obligation on the Institute to provide a service. Applying to the education programme does not guarantee participation - the number of schools in each edition is limited and selection follows contact with the school. Any terms of cooperation are agreed individually, outside the site.

6. Technical requirements

Using the site requires a device with internet access and a current browser with JavaScript enabled. Disabling JavaScript or blocking local storage limits the observation checklist, the configurator and the remembering of accessibility settings.

7. Liability

We work to keep the content accurate and current, and every study states its sources and the limits of what can be inferred. The Institute is not liable for decisions taken solely on the basis of the site's content, without an individual analysis of conditions at a given school. We reserve the right to temporary technical interruptions and to change, supplement or remove content.

8. Complaints and comments

Comments on how the site works, on the content of the studies and on factual errors can be sent to biuro@ike.edu.pl. We reply within 14 days. We look particularly carefully at substantive comments on the interpretation of research - where they are well founded, we correct the text and record the change.

9. Changes to these terms

These terms may change if the scope of the site, the law or the tools used change. The current version is always available on this page, with its date under the document title.

10. Governing law

Matters not covered by these terms are governed by Polish law.

Data in forms - GDPR information

This information accompanies every form on the site. It is a short restatement of the rules set out in the privacy policy.

Contact form and noise test request

The data entered in the form is processed in order to answer the enquiry and agree the terms of any cooperation - on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR. Providing data is voluntary but necessary for us to reply. We keep the data for up to 24 months after the matter is closed. You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and to lodge a complaint with the President of the Polish DPA. Contact: biuro@ike.edu.pl.

School application to the Noise Fighters programme

The school's and the contact person's data is processed in order to consider the application, assess the school and arrange the sessions - on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR. We keep the data for the duration of the programme and 12 months afterwards. The remaining information about rights and contact is as above.

Notifications about new publications

The email address is processed solely to send information about the Institute's new studies - on the basis of consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Consent can be withdrawn at any time, by using the link in a message or writing to biuro@ike.edu.pl; this does not affect the lawfulness of earlier mailings. The address is deleted promptly after withdrawal.

Observation checklist and booth configurator

These tools run entirely in the user's browser. The answers and the result are stored on the device so they survive a page refresh, and they are not sent to the Institute. They can be removed by clearing site data in the browser. A user who wants to discuss the result sends it themselves through the contact form - in which case the information in the first section applies.

Who owns the site's content

The texts, studies, teaching materials, graphics, layout and appearance of the site are the copyright of EASYEKO sp. z o.o. The name Institute for Educational Comfort, the Institute's emblem, the name of the Noise Fighters programme and its characters - including Hush Hero and the Hałasory - are marks of the Institute and may not be used without permission.

What you may do without asking

read, print and save the site's content for your own use,
use the teaching materials in work with pupils at school or at home, without altering them,
quote extracts from the studies with the author and source given, under the right of quotation,
link to pages on the site and share those links.

What needs permission

publishing whole studies or substantial parts of them on another site, in a publication or in training materials,
using the content, graphics or programme characters for commercial purposes,
adapting the materials, creating derivative works, and removing marks of origin,
using the Institute's names and marks in a way that suggests patronage, cooperation or endorsement.

We usually grant permission readily and free of charge for educational purposes - just write to biuro@ike.edu.pl describing what is to be used and where.

How to cite our studies

When citing the Institute's materials, please give the title of the study, the name of the Institute, the page address and the date of access. If you are citing a research finding, please refer to the source publication listed in the article's bibliography, not only to our discussion of it.

Source materials cited in our studies

The scientific publications, reports and standards listed in the bibliographies remain the property of their authors and publishers. We provide bibliographic details and our own discussion; we do not reproduce full texts or tables from paid documents - including technical standards.

Photographs and illustrations

Photographs marked with the AI symbol were generated using artificial intelligence and are illustrative - they do not document particular schools, people or installations. Other visual material comes from the Institute's own resources or from licensed sources. Photographs may not be downloaded and used separately, outside the material they appear in.

Reporting infringements

If the site's content infringes someone's rights or has been used without permission, please write to biuro@ike.edu.pl. We deal with such reports promptly.
